HOW TO EASILY CONVERT AN IMAGE TO A SUPERIMPOSABLE SLIDE BY MAKING THE BACKGROUND TRANSPARENT (using free programs and without using complicate procedures of proprietary applications!): This is currently anywhere else in the web!

1.- Extract the images from the PDF (either by selecting and saving each one using the photo tool, or using the free application SomePDFImage Extractor, which may automatically extract all of them!) preferentially to the PNG format. If you have the Adobe Acrobat (not the Reader), you may also save the document as an image.

Note: The images cannot be in JPG format, in this case you must covert them to GIF, TIF or PNG (i.e., with IrfanView).

2.- If you would use the image in a Word document, once the image has been imported, you can easily remove the background using the Dropper in the Image Toolbar (not allowed if the image was in the JPG format!).

3.- The GIF format allows transparent pixels (direct command in ImageMagick). GIMP actuates over the ‘alpha’ channel of PNG (if the image does not have it, simply add a new layer!). When you save the image you’re asked if you prefer the ‘alpha’ channel as transparent. Et voilà!
